I have always enjoyed drawing, however, it was not until I was older that I really grew as an artist. In 2003 my daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant. She then relapsed in 2005 and underwent another bone marrow transplant. I had been in the banking industry for twenty some years at that time, but knew it was time for me to leave my job to care for my daughter. During this time I felt the urge to draw again after many years of not drawing at all. I seemed to have a whole new perspective. I began to read books and articles about different techniques and soon the faces I was drawing seemed to come more alive. Next thing I knew, I was drawing for others and it was very rewarding. Now I spend more time drawing and I thoroughly enjoy it.
